Columbia, NC—On Saturday, June 22, more than 75 people came together at 415 Main Street in Columbia to celebrate and tour the newly developed Blue Juniper Inn's grounds, public areas, and sleeping rooms.
“This is so bright, so cheerful, so full of color and joy,” wrote one visitor. “I can’t wait to stay here,” echoed another.
“We were so honored to have our NC Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green with us. Her poems are so evocative, especially those inspired by rivers like our own Scuppernong,” said proprietor John McCann. “They grounded us in this particular place, this particular town, and all the stories over generations that precede and inform our own.”
“It’s so good to see these old houses survive, to see them repurposed for a new generation…and I’m glad to see John and Nancy have retained the character, the workmanship that went into this house when it was built over a century ago,” said NC Representative Ed Goodwin.
